Prompt: What do you love about where you live?
Upon the shores of Sussex, where the chalk cliffs gleam so white,
Lies Eastbourne’s pretty township, a place of peace and light.
The gentle waves, they whisper sweet secrets to the shore,
A rhythmic rolling lullaby that I’ve come to adore.
The promenade, a path of peace, where good folks amble by,
With views of endless oceans and the ever-cloudless sky.
From the pier’s own grand Victorian curve, to the lifeboat’s brave retreat,
Each step a breath of fresh salt air, a simple, wholesome treat.
Beyond the town, the South Downs rise in rolling hills of green,
A patchwork gaze of ancient land, a truly awesome scene.
I walk the trails where wild thyme grows and skylarks sing their song,
Feeling a part of something good, where I truly do belong.
Here, the seasons turn with grace, from summer’s golden haze,
To winter walks with frosted breath, in the short, soft, misty days.
The town’s kind heart, a friendly smile, a simple, gentle pace,
Makes Eastbourne more than just a place, but a truly special space.

Thanks Eugi, it’s where I live, 100 m from the beach, so handy for all year swimming. 😁
