Waste of time

How do you waste the most time every day?

Thinking up things to write on this blog!

The cursor blinks, a rhythmic, taunting gleam,
Another post, another digital dream.
Hours melt away, like frost in morning sun,
Is this a calling, or work left undone?
The keyboard clicks, a narrative takes flight,
From fleeting thought to structured, pixel light.
You craft the phrase, you seek the perfect word,
A voice released, a whispered, unheard bird.
But then the doubt, a shadow soft and deep,
While urgent tasks in silent vigil sleep.
The analytics, few and far between,
A digital garden, beautiful but lean.
So why return? What unseen force compels?
This endless scroll, these self-created spells?
Perhaps it’s not the waste, but seeds you sow,
For future growth, a story’s gentle flow.
A public journal, thoughts you can’t contain,
A quiet echo, through joy and through pain.
Or simply practice, honing craft and mind,
Leaving scattered thoughts for others to find.
So if it’s waste, it’s waste with purpose bright,
To capture moments, or just chase the light.
The “why” is yours, a truth within your hand,
To understand the blog, and where you stand.

This poem attempts to capture the internal debate I might be having. It suggests that while I perceive it as a “waste,” there could be deeper reasons or benefits to my blogging.

What are your thoughts on this?

Does any of this resonate with you?
