Prompt: What is your favorite season of year? Why?
When summer’s blaze begins to fade,
And green gives way to gold and red,
A magic whispers through the glade,
As autumn’s gentle hand is spread.
The air grows crisp, a cooling sigh,
No sweltering heat, no humid press,
Just perfect breezes drifting by,
A welcome, sweet, and soft caress.
From emerald leaves to fiery hues,
The trees ignite in grand display,
A painter’s palette, rich with news,
Of nature’s vibrant, grand array.
Then pumpkins ripen, round and bright,
And apples hang, a juicy prize,
While bonfires glow in gathering night,
Reflecting warmth in eager eyes.
So let the summer glories cease,
And winter’s chill still hold its claim,
For autumn brings a sense of peace,
The finest season, by its name.
