What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?

Well, this is an easy one.

My name is Richard Joseph Kirk.

I was born Joseph Richard Mason during the early 1950’s in East Dereham, Norfolk, England. Like most people, I have a birth certificate to prove it. My birth mother died when I was four days old and I was taken in, (kidnapped), by an aunt. I was relocated to London and subsequently adopted without my birth father’s knowledge or consent. At my adoption, I was renamed Richard Joseph Kirk and I somehow have another birth certificate to prove that. I am sure that having two birth certificates is not strictly legal. Joseph Mason was also my birth Father’s name.

So, my legal middle name of Joseph was my original first name and also my birth fathe’s name.

I write using my birth name to honour my parent birth parents.
