Putin rolling on the floor laughing with the Trumpster not getting the joke (him being the joke)!
What a busy month it’s been, only 28 days in the month, but 25 posts. My total now being over 200 since I started. I think I deserve a lie down.
February is my birth month and I ha d a wonderful day / week. I saw my two daughters and four of my grandchildren, Had a couple of video calls with my son and his family in Australia, and was generally spoilt rotten.
My wife bought me a rather splendid new Android tablet, (we don’t do Apple in our family), which unlike most, comes with a keyboard and mouse. When combined with the carry-case it came with, it looks just like a small laptop. With up to 12 GB of RAM and an expandable 256 GB HDD, it’s quite fast and agile. It came from Neocore, a British make I’m pleased to say. If you’re looking for a new tablet, I recommend this one. At less than £150 for the whole kit, it’s a bargain as well. The girls bought me a Vertical Battery Grip Holder for my Nikon. It holds two batteries at a time and the charger is via a USB cable, So nice and compact. They also bought me some crafting things which were on my wish list. I like to keep an up-to-date wish list on Amazon, then I’m never disappointed at Christmas or birthdays.
On another subject, I was also fitted with new hearing aids. Very neat, behind the ear jobs. They have built in Bluetooth, so once connected to the mobile, I can listen to music or podcasts without uncomfortable ear-pods or cumbersome headphones. I’m quite impressed. Also, of course, just to make my American friends jealous, completely free on the NHS once one is passed the age of 65. My pre-65 hearing aids cost about £1400 (nearly $1,800). Brilliant!
Talking of America, which we weren’t, and without wishing to offend anyone, but I doubt if I will, Hasn’t the Trumpster been busy. Unilaterally deciding that Gaza is actually prime real-estate and wanting to turn it into a massive holiday resort. As usual he hasn’t though it through, if he thinks the Palestinians would just sit back and let him get on with it he has another think coming. I am pretty sure, that once built at a cost of billions of dollars, they would shower it with rockets at every opportunity. Not to mention the illegal ethnic cleansing he would need to execute to empty Gaza of every single Palestinian, or where they would go if it happened, (which it won’t).
Then there’s Ukraine, which the Trumpster seems to think America has financed personally and that Europe hasn’t played its part. The fact that we in Europe have poured over 60% of the arms and aid into Ukraine has never been mentioned to him by his sycophantic cronies of unqualified advisers. Plus, to do a deal, he wants $600,000,000 worth of minerals from Ukraine! Again, no one has told him that most of the mineral wealth is in the part that he wants to ‘gift’ to Putin, his new friend. Putin must be wetting his pants with laughter! Unfortunately, it looks and sounds as if the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is doing a deal with Trump without any guarantee of ongoing defence security for his country from the USA. DOn’t forget to mention that Elon Musk in his drive to stop the government wasting money on vets, the homeless and poor people because they are parasites, forgets that Tesla has been a major beneficiary of federal and state government funding, receiving $11.4 billion in regulatory credits meant to boost electric cars.
Anyway, enough of politics, after all, what do I know about these things. Probably more than Trump, but that’s not difficult. He’ll probably send out a CIA hit squad for me if he ever read this blog, assuming he can read that is. I’ve noticed that every executive order he signs has to be read out and explained to him. So, perhaps not.
Anyway, getting back to my blog. It would have been a great month if only…
