Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?

I am British and very old. We have a different view of patriotism than many other countries. We have a royal Family, a King and a Queen Consort. At my time of life, we are fed up with politicians of all types and parties. We have long a go worked out that they are only interested in themselves and their own bank balances, party politics and generally opposing everything that the other parties say, even if it is good for the country and for the people. In fact, in most cases, the people are the last thing on their minds.

This is where the King comes in, most but not all people hold him in high esteem. When he was the Prince of Wales and was ‘carrying on’ with Camilla Parker-Bowles, we despised him and generally held her in the highest disdain. Now they are married and now he is King all that has changed. We love our King and ‘like’ our Queen Camilla.

This is the sort of patriotism we have here in the UK. A love for our country and for our Royal Family but a total and unbelievably intolerance of political parties, politicians and all that goes with them.

There, I’ve said my piece, stuck my colours in the ground and proclaimed my stance on this prompt. Like or lump it.
