Loves Lustre Lost.

This poem is quite weird, it started out as a secular example of today’s society then turned into a gospel warning of things to come…

February 2025

Love has lost its lustre,

lust however shines.

Romance may not quite be dead,

but we can see the signs

Gratification is what they seek,

To ply the innocent,

the young,

the weak.

Innocence is in fact no more,

And everyone worships the fallen whore.

If it isn’t sex,

it’s drugs they need

Crystal meth,

cocaine and weed.

They’ve sold their souls to get a fix,

To get a high,

to get their kicks.

Death will eventually pay a call,

Not exactly the great enthral,

But there you go,

the price is paid

You had your fix,

you’ve been well laid.

The childlike innocence that you once had,

Has lost its lustre,

turned sad,

turned bad.

Some may not weep as others might

but you chose darkness when offered light

Let’s hope you hear that final trumpet call

And do not into the abyss fall.

Revelation 14:6-7 NIV

Then I saw another angel flying in mid-air, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. [7] He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”
