January: Wolf Moon
Native Americans and Medieval Europeans called January’s full Moon a Wolf Moon. It is thought to be because wolves howled more at this time of year as there was less food.

In the heart of winter’s chill,
Silent snowflakes veil the hill,
A silver orb ascends the night,
Bathed in ethereal, frosty light.
…
The Wolf Moon rises, fierce and wild,
Casting shadows deep and mild,
Upon the frozen, tranquil ground,
Where whispers of the wild resound.
…
In ancient lore, it speaks of tales,
Of haunting howls and icy gales,
Wolves roam beneath its watchful eye,
With spirits free, they prowl and fly.
…
The pack moves through the moonlit glade,
Their breath a mist in midnight shade,
Their eyes aglow with primal fire,
In harmony, they never tire.
…
The Wolf Moon’s glow, a guiding force,
Through forest paths and snow-bound course,
It lights the way with gentle grace,
For those who seek its sacred place.
…
So, let the Wolf Moon’s magic sweep,
Across the sky, while creatures sleep,
A beacon in the dark, so bright,
A guardian of the silent night.
