Bittersweet – A Poem

Better as a performance poem rather than printed word. To be read very slowly with a pause after each punctuation mark.…

This poem is in not autobiographical, a confessional or a reflection of my life. I just write this stuff, I don’t live it.

Pleasure accompanied by suffering or regret.

That’s a profound way to define it.

It’s thoughtful, enigmatic, slightly deep.

That feeling of guilt after sin.

Self-loathing after such a climax.

You knew you shouldn’t,

but you did.

It was, oh, so sweet.

That long embrace,

That cuddle, that kiss,

that sex.

That hot, hot sex.

He was so firm, so young, so fit.

Ripped muscles, tight cheeks.

It was so bitter, yet he was so sweet,

so very, very sweet.

So bittersweet…

    1. Hi Eugi, thanks for your comment. I don’t know where it came from but I like it as a performance poem and look forward to reading it at my local poetry reading club next week. I do like to shock them a little.🫣😁
