Here’s a light-hearted poem about a nativity play that went slightly wrong:

In a sleepy little village, on a cold December night,
The children gathered nervously, their costumes snug and tight.
The stage was set, the lights were low, the parents packed the pews,
For the yearly nativity, an event they wouldn’t choose.
…
Little Mary stood so proudly, with her Joseph by her side,
But Joseph tripped on his sandal, denting his parents pride.
The audience giggled softly, as the shepherds came in next,
But one had lost his shepherds staff, then tripped and hit the decks!
…
The angels fluttered awkwardly, their halos all askew,
One angel sneezed immensely, and then her nose she blew.
The wise men entered triumphantly, bearing gifts they’d made with care,
But one fell off the platform—giving everyone a scare!
…
The baby doll in the manger, looked up with plastic glee,
When one wise man dropped his gift, when getting on one knee..
The star hung from the ceiling, a bit too low for grace,
When donkey moved too quickly, and it hit him in the face.
…
Through it all, the children smiled, their spirits bright and high,
For even in their mishaps, Christmas joy was nigh.
The parents laughed with hearty cheer, at each and every mess,
For in this joyful chaos, they all were truly blest.
…
So remember this small tale, of a play that went awry,
For in its funny moments, true Christmas love does lie.
The lessons from that evening, with laughter to the brim,
Show that even in our bloopers, the light of love won’t dim.
