Here’s a reflective poem about Bethlehem at Christmas during times of war. May the spirit of peace and resilience be with all those touched by conflict.

In Bethlehem, where peace was born,
This Christmas, hearts are tattered, torn,
The quiet streets now hold their breath,
Whispers of love, yet shadowed by death.
…
In ancient stones, the echoes cling,
Of shepherds’ song and angels’ wing,
Yet now, amidst the silent night,
War’s grim shadows blur the light.
…
Stars still shine with timeless grace,
Over a weary, war-torn place,
Hopes are whispered, prayers are cried,
In Bethlehem, where love abides.
…
Among the ruins, dreams survive,
In fragile hearts, hope stays alive,
For even in the darkest plight,
There’s a spark, a faint but steadfast light.
…
May peace descend like gentle snow
To heal the wounds, to cease the woe,
In Bethlehem, this Christmas tide,
Where love and hope can still abide.
