Armistice Day Poem

11th November 2024

In Flanders fields where poppies blow,
Amidst the cross-marked rows aglow,
Brave souls who fought and now repose,
Their legacy, a peace bestows.

The silence whispers tales of old,
Of valour, courage, hearts so bold,
Each name, a story etched in time,
Of sacrifice, of life sublime.

Armistice morn, a dawn anew,
Of hope, and skies of brightest blue,
We honour those who gave their all,
Their memory, we hold, stand tall.

In gratitude, we bow our heads,
Remembering where their courage led,
For in the quiet of this day,
We vow their peace shall ever stay.

Lest we forget, the battles won,
The peace they forged, and all they’ve done,
On Armistice Day, we stand and say,
Thank you, heroes, for this day.
